High quality stainless steel ball bearings from Japanese manufacturers (NMB, NSK), comparable to those on Shimano and Daiwa reels. These have the more durable races than Anti-rust bearings. So, for reels to be used in freshwater, these should be used for longer life. These ball bearings conform to JIS-0, Japan Industrial Standard Class 0, suitable for high speed spin in fishing reels. We have successfully added 2 ceramic ball bearings to an Ambassadeur idler gear. Custom machined in house, we have made these idler gears to fit 2 ABEC 7 bearings (supplied), which effectively increases idler speed giving you a longer, smoother cast. Idler will fit a multitude of reels from 4000 up to 6600 size. This includes most all classic style round Ambassadeurs. Original gear part number is 23404.

Drive gear is made of brass and it will last much longer than stock duralumin drive gears. Please replace the washer just under the drive gear to the thin carbon washer included to the kit, to lower the gear height.
