Tax and Tariff

– No tax will be collected at shopping: As long as you live outside Japan, no Japanese consumption tax will be charged at shopping.

– Paying TARIFF (custom tax, import tax) is your duty, not for us. In most countries, imports will be charged with import tax by the government of customers, and please pay the tax when you receive your purchase. Tax rate varies from country to country. 

In the USA, from August 2025, the rate is 15% for products from Japan. Some handling fee might be charged as well by couriers. There will be no Di Minimis, the threshhold for tax exemption of $800 in the past, any more. (Supreme Court has judged the Trump Tariff is illegal, but it is still in effect as of Sep 10, 2025) You will be asked to pay for the tariff just before the delivery of the packages, and email will be sent to pay from DHL. Post office will ask you to pay at the door. FedEx might send you an invoice letter after delivery and please pay.

Canada, Australia, Italy, Brasil custom offices catche all packages passing the border for tax. Rate is Canada 10-30%, Australia 10-30%, Italy 30%, Brasil 30%. Clearing the custom office might take quite long for some countries, and please consult with Jun by email. We have good experiences in shipping to those countries, and you will be good.

For your reference, tax is calculated by the declared value, and the value is also used as the insurance value for the package.
