Celebrating the millennium, Shimano introduced Stella millennium edition in the year 2000, up to 2000 reels for three models on order-to-produce. Released were 1000SS for trout fishing, 2500SS for bass fishing, and 4000SS for steelhead fishing.
All three models have chrome finish body, machine cut handle, and special spools.

Millennium Stella will receive 10 year FREE maintenance from Shimano, up to 4 check-ups and overhaul services a year. They were delivered with etched owner's name plate on the reel on the other side of handle, accompanied by an Aluminum case. Super slow oscillation system was first introduced with this model.

Second hand owner will obtain new name plate if he/she goes through registration and pay for the plate.(about $35)

Retail price was 80,000jpy.
