Water proof components adding frictions like rubber seal and hard grease are replaced by other protection system to reduce any friction from rotation. Another Shimano high-end Vanquish, the other is of couse Stella, has been tuned toward quick responce, instead of smooth stable retrieve of Stella. Vanquish has quite light cranking to accelarate fast, and to stop fast. The quick action is suitable for freshwater bass and trout fishing, where sensitive manipulation is often employed. Every components are made to reduce inertia, to remove weight, and to eliminate noise. Vanquish offers ultimate comfort in stop and go tactics.
