Shimano 2017 Scorpion DC is a medium sized, solid bait caster with superb casting performance. It is built solid with aluminum Hagane body, and has durable components like Hyper-tensile brass gears. Its body size is the same as that of Scorpion 200 and Curado 200. Casting with Scorpion DC is quite easy with the help of I-DC5 brake system, which was on the upper grade Shimano 15Metanium DC.

Its innovative brake system, I-DC5 computer brake is effectively controlling the speed of spool by every 1/1000 second, and you don't have to worry about back lash. With the I-DC5 braking system, you only have to set line material from 3 (nylon, fluorocarbon or PE braided) inside the side plate by sliding spool holder, and then you set strength by external dial from 5 selections of rig weights. 1: heavy 18-30g, 2: regular 10-20g, 3: light 8-12g, 4: finesse 5-8g. A: full-auto setting and it covers very wide 7-30g weight automatically and you don't have to worry about the "weight setting." By setting these material and weight, it casts the longest without any worry for back lash. To open the side plate, please set brake dial to OPEN. And cam lever holding side plate will move. You'll need to choose line material first to make DC system work well.

Body size is in Shimano 200 bait casters, but its spool is a bit narrowed and shallow to hold lines of 100 sized reels. By limiting the line capacity and remove weight from spool, spool will acceralate faster and cast longer.
