Shimano's high-end low profile casting reel has a little more variety in Japanese models. Antares has chrome finished metal body and ultra smooth gears. All moving parts are supported by ball bearings to offer the ultimate smoothness. There are some varieties in gear ratio, spool, and handle length and you may find the best performing reel. Version 2 is designed for saltwater usage, and equipped with more salt-resistant parts.

All models are equipped with 10+1 ball bearings.
70mm short handles for Antares R/L, 84mm handles on Antares 5, Antares Version 2.
Ultra-light magnesium alloy spool on Antares R/L, Antares 5 accelerate quite fast and casts the longest.
Aluminum deep spool on Antares Version2 for more line capacity

Jun's comments: The smoothest casting reel in both casting and retrieving. The silky smooth reel also casts long distance. Its maximum performance is surely the best among all bait casters, but the ultimate performance also requires skills. Version 2 reels are great for surf fishing and salmon anglers.
