Jun's comment: Overall, this line is great to use. This metered line is tightly woven, and feels like the metered version of YGK Upgrade X8, which I highly value its performance for #0.6-#1.5. I have started using this Saltiga 8 line #1 for offshore light jigging for long-term review. April 17 2020.
After about 10 days of use in Tai-rubber 30-50m deep jigging and other applications, this line has started to feel a little rough on guides. Maybe its surface coatings are losing. Let's see how it goes. July 6, 2020. After another 10 days of use in light jigging and puffer fish fishing, I experienced a few unexpected line breaks for some reason. It could have been bit by puffer fish at yellow meter-markings. Sep 26, 2020 Even after 3 years of use, the line is still working fine. June 15 2023. I stop using it Jan 2025. This line has served me for 4 years, amazing. I have cut 3-5m by every 5 fishing trips.
I have picked #3-300m line to spoon onto Shimano Ocea Jigger NR2000HG for deep jigging. March 2021. This line is strong enough and attached 80lb leader broke sometimes. I have changed the way I tie the leader to metal jigs then. I have landed 22kg yellow fin tuna in April 2023 with the line. The line is still fine in April 2024. I go deep sea jiggin only once or twice a year.
